These are branches of the PIO Fund, the National Employment Service and the Social Catering Company "PUTT Kopaonik". The office of the Republic Health Insurance Fund was given seven days to move out of the building.

The deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the North region, Veton Elšani, told Contact Plus that the action was carried out based on the request of the Municipality of Leposavic, which treats the object as its property.

"We received a request from the municipality to assist them in one building - the one where the Center for Social Work was previously located. On the third floor, we found four offices where Serbian institutions function - the Health Insurance Institute, the PIO Fund, the National Employment Service and 'PUTT Kopaonik,'" specified Eljšani.

Elšani specified that "three institutions are closed today: PIO, National Employment Service and 'PUTT Kopaonik', and that the doors of those offices are sealed."

He added that the mayor of Leposavic, Ljuljzim Hetemi, gave the Health Insurance Institute seven days to evict.

Elšani stated that they informed the competent prosecutor about the "situation on the ground", and in connection with the National Employment Service there is, as he said, an open case of "falsification of documents".

Hetemi: The premises usurped by Serbian institutions were closed at my request

The mayor of Leposavić, Ljuljzim Hetemi, meanwhile confirmed that, based on his request to the Kosovo Police, the premises of the municipal building were "liberated" today, which, as he stated, "were usurped and used by three parallel and illegal institutions of the Republic of Serbia".

"As the mayor of the Municipality of Leposavic, together with my team, I am committed to ensure that all our funds are at the service of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and that they provide services to all citizens without distinction," said Hetemi in a post on Facebook.

He thanked the police for their assistance and "their work aimed at ensuring order, security and guaranteeing compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kosovo", the Mayor of Leposavic said on Facebook, whose post was shared on social media by the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Dželjalj Svečlja.

Today's action followed a similar operation in Štrpce, where the New Public Utility Company, which also operated under the system of the Republic of Serbia, was closed.
