Putin with Patriarch Porfiry: Allied relations with Serbia are the warmest and closest

Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed during the meeting with Serbian Patriarch Porfiry in Moscow that, as he said, the allied relations between Russia and Serbia are the warmest and closest.

During the meeting with the Serbian Patriarch in the Kremlin, the Russian President said that he expects Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to visit Moscow on May 9 and attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, RTS reported.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Putin said that Russia is aware of the difficult situation in the Balkans.

"We know that the situation in the Balkans is not simple. And we know about your efforts to strengthen the position of Serbia," said Putin, addressing the Serbian patriarch, she reported RIA Novosti.

Patriarch Porphyry presented Russian President Putin with an Easter egg with the inscription "Christ is Risen" in the Serbian language.

"From the Resurrection Monastery," the patriarch told the Russian president, handing him a gift.

The President of Russia congratulated Serbian Patriarch Porfirio Vaskrs.

"Let me congratulate you on the Bright Easter holiday. This is our common bright holiday," Putin said at the meeting.

Earlier today, the Patriarch of Serbia met with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
